Pottery lessons in my home in downtown Huntsville

Wheel Throwing (Beginner / Intermediate)

Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel and develop your skill: mugs, bowls and small vases. I teach the basic skills and then coach each participant according to their needs. Students with more experience will be encouraged to try out new forms, larger pieces, and explore different decorating techniques.

Low ratio: only 3 students per session.

Duration: Six weeks

Next sessions: I do not teach in the summer, since it is a busy selling/making season.
Stay tuned for fall session dates

Registration fee: $450 + tax - includes a 10kg bag of clay, glazes and firings
Beginner tool kit: Extra ($37.17+tax=$42) buy when you pay for the session or at the first class.
Fees subject to change.

Minimum age: 12 years. Youth aged 12–18 must be accompanied by an adult.

You must read the NEED TO KNOW page before registering.

These are not classes and I will not be teaching, but I am happy to offer suggestions or ideas as we work together. Maximum two wheel spots and one non-wheel spot (e.g. glazing) per 3-hour block. Open Studio is for past students only who have participated in a 6-week class. Open Studio is offered Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 9:30p.m. — September to June.

More details will be provided to students during class.

To register

During the transition back to online registration, I will honour all existing wait list requests received between January 1 and March 1, 2026 and will offer these people first chance at a spot. Spots not filled from the wait list will be offered through online registration. To find out when online registration opens, subscribe to my email list or follow me on Instagram.

Returning students are always welcome.
